LASER TREATMENTS

If the lesion(s) is (are) deemed benign during consultation, laser treatment can be attemped. We do not use lasers to treat cancers or suspected cancers. Beginning 2 weeks prior to your treatment, sunblock before and after treatment is recommended. It is also wise to stay out of intense sunlight (or tanning beds) during this time.

LASER TREATMENT CARE

IS IT PAINFUL?

Most patients do not require anesthesia, but ice packs and/ or anesthetic creams can be used if necessary.

WHAT IF MY SKIN TYPE IS PRONE TO HYPERPIGMENTATION?

Hyperpigmentation can occur in darker skin types (Asian, Hispanic, Indian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean). It is usually temporary and fades over time. However, if you or your laser technician are concerned about your risk of hyperpigmentation it may be recommend to use a vitamin C cream for 2 weeks pre procedure and in between laser treatments. Vit C cream is available for purchase at V Line Cosmetic Clinic.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO SEE DURING THE TREATMENT, AND IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER TREATMENT?

When the skin absorbs the laser energy, it will turn gray or white for a few minutes. There may be bruising in areas where there is a lot of pigment. Over the next several days, shallow blisters or crusting may develop. Do not attempt to break or pop the blisters. The bruising should resolve within a few days and the fine scabs that look like a darker version of the brown spot should peel off within 10-14 days. Your technician may recommend specific after care creams or lotions to assist with healing. The healed skin is initially pink but regains pigmentation and blends into the surrounding skin over time. Occasionally, if there is significant sun damage, the treated area may remain somewhat pink for two to four weeks, and there may be some flaking or peeling during this time. This is a normal process as the body eliminates the pigment from the skin. There may be some lightening or darkening of the treated area for several months after laser treatment. This is usually temporary and subtle. You can apply make- up to the treated area. Just be gentle when removing the make-up. Avoid sun exposure to the treated area until healing is complete and to avoid developing new pigmented areas.

COOLSCULPTING PROCEDURE

Dermal fillers are commonly used by men and women to increase volume, correct asymmetry, create shape and contour, soften deep wrinkles, and to create a more youthful look. Dermal fillers are temporary and can last from 6 to 18 months depending on the treatment area. Areas such as the nose and temples tend to last the longest, up to 18 months, since we don’t move these areas often. The cheeks, chin and jawline generally last about 12 months since muscles in these areas are worked when speaking or eating. The lips and nasolabial folds last about 7 to 9 months, at which time a touch up or smaller dose of filler may be required to maintain results. At V Line Cosmetic we believe it is important to provide the client with flawless yet natural looking results.
At V Line Cosmetic our internationally trained Physicians and Registered Nurses only use Health Canada Approved dermal fillers that have a proven safety record. Our dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which is a component that is naturally found in the body. Over time the product will be slowly absorbed by the body without any issue.
